Hello again everyone!
For this weeks blog, I want to touch on the topic of spelling conventions. You may be asking yourself, “why spelling conventions? Why this topic?” Well, since I have touch on a little bit of something within the topics of English, I think it is time for spelling conventions. So let us begin!
There is a book that I have been reading in my English class in college called, “The Great Typo Hunt”, I talked about this book in my last blog post. Anyway, there was a part in the book where a lady gets upset at the people in the book because the people in the book were trying to correct a spelling error that they saw on a sign people were buying. The lady that was selling the signs got upset at the people in the book, and defended her signs by saying “free market”. Now, I’m not one to judge, but the lady took it the wrong way when the guys in the book were trying to help with the misspell on the signs. If you misspell something, it is only right to try and fix it, or am I crazy? By the way, in the book she was selling signs that read, “Bon Appetite”, which is wrong. Spelling convention people, GET IT RIGHT!
